In your day

How an Osmania biscuit fits into your day

Small, rich and easy to eat more than one of. Here is the sensible way to think about it.

Count the chai too

One level teaspoon of sugar in tea adds about 15 kcal. Two biscuits and a sweet tea can add up faster than the biscuits alone.

Check the pack weight

Biscuit sizes differ, and printed per-biscuit values range from about 60 to 115 kcal. Compare per 100 g to judge fairly.

Read the fat line

Packs made with vegetable fat or shortening can differ in saturated and trans fat. Check the label and our label guide.

If you manage diabetes, heart disease or weight, ask your doctor or dietitian how treats like this fit your plan.

Method

How we calculated these numbers

We took the amounts from our recipe (200 g flour, 120 g butter, 80 g powdered sugar and the smaller ingredients) and added up standard reference values for each ingredient from USDA FoodData Central. We assumed about 8–10% water is lost in baking and that a batch makes about 28 biscuits of roughly 14 g each. Guideline limits come from the WHO healthy diet fact sheet.

These are estimates, not laboratory results. Real values change with the flour, butter, sugar and biscuit size. If you spot a mistake, please tell us.
